Other viruses, such as HIV, can be transmitted through breastmilk. However, the COVID-19 virus can be transmitted through droplets.

There are a lot of factors that affect the transmission of the virus. However, in general, this is an acceptable answer, if not precise, that I can give you.

Chances are low for mother-and-child viral transmission of the COVID-19 virus as long as:

  1. Both the mother and child observe precautionary measures such as proper handwashing and the use of surgical masks.
  2. The immune system of the child is strong, keeping the child healthy.
